Bryan and the Haggards - Still Alive and Kicking Down Walls
Credit - Mix
The second critically acclaimed CD for this tough and funny New York ensemble, Still Alive and Kicking Down Walls was the first CD mixed at the new O Lab facility. A more inside rhythm section on this effort makes a stronger base for the manic improvisations of Bryan Murray and Jon Irabagon. Bryan's playing on Turnin' Off a Memory is some of the best saxophone playing ever recorded, in my opinion.
I just mixed my new Bryan and the Haggards CD at O Lab and Scott did a fabulous job! Highly recommended." - Bryan Murray
Threeds - Unraveled

Recorded at Avatar, Unraveled is one of the most interesting projects I've ever worked on. Three double reeds, a beatboxer, two singers and Katie reciting Radiohead lyrics through a backwards oboe with a mic on the other end, this CD truly has something for everyone.
As a trained musician, active performer and passionate educator, Scott has a wonderful understanding and enthusiasm for all types of music. As a producer, he is incredibly thorough and 200% committed to every project he works on…and those ears- he doesn't miss anything! As a friend, Scott's patience and sense of humor are a real asset- if he can deal with a trio of crazy oboists, he can deal with anyone! I am so happy with how our album came out and can't wait to work with him again in the future. If you want to make a killing record, you must call this man" - Katie Scheele
Vicious World - Plays the Music of Rufus Wainwright

Saxophonist Aaron Irwin and trombonistMatt McDonald co-lead this ensemble playing their own arrangments of music by the famed singer-songwriter. It was a pleasure to mix this gorgeously performed CD.

Steven came to my place in Brooklyn for a couple sessions of late night mixing. This is a beautiful record with a wonderful group of musicians
"Or play it on a late afternoon when you're in need of a smile." - Aural States
Kimberly Johnson - Saudades da India

Kimberly is a Brazil-based yogini who initially brought her project to me for mixing, but we ended up tracking some additional instruments, including a samba based on an experience she had trying to teach a yoga class in Brazil with the window open. This record is meant to flow like a yoga practice.
Zach Brock - The Magic Number

A kickstarter-funded project, The Magic Number is a band featuring my good friends Zach Brock, Matt Wigton, and Fred Kennedy. We tracked two days at Acoustic Recording in Brooklyn and mixed at my studio. Zach paid me a huge compliment by telling me that this is his best sounding recording.

Satya - Seven Blue Seas

I know Satya from Chicago when she sang with Matt Geraghty's band. I always thought she had a unique musicianship and while on tour with Matt in Portugal, we recorded a melody of hers on my little hard-disk recorder. That started a process of collaboration that culminated with this CD, a mix of Brazil, Bombay and Brooklyn.
"I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Scott and find him to be a versatile, energetic and thorough professional as well as an accomplished musician. As a producer, his ability to create an atmosphere conducive to expression were crucial to my creative process as we recorded my album. Scott strives to provide the best solution aided by an open mind, a sophisticated aesthetic and a keen technical edge. His depth and clarity of understanding project and client needs are strengths that enable bringing ideas to fruition." Satya Gummuluri
Bryan and the Haggards - Pretend It's the End of the World
Credit - Mix
I've known Bryan since our grad-school days at Depaul in Chicago. His band plays avant-garde arrangemtents of the music of Merle Haggard. They wear cowboy hats and big belt buckles and although it's often funny, none of it is a joke. They do this music out of complete love and respect.

"...among the very best I've heard all year." - JazzChicago.net
“It would be one thing to speak of Scott's enormous talents as a musician or of his vast knowledge as a producer and engineer. He has indeed a colorful and broad palette of tools to bring to bear to every aspect of the process of recording music. More importantly however, Scott inspired me to be a better musician and for this Scott has my utmost respect, admiration and sincere gratitude. I'm not positive, but I think he also stole my ipod from my backpack when my back was turned.” Jon Gold
Adriano Santos Quintet - In Session

Adriano was one of the first musicians I met in New York. He IS Brazilian drumming. His CD showcases his complete mastery of the drumset. His careful and articulate production shines through on this, his first CD as a leader.
Nominee - Brazilian Jazz Album of the Year - Latin Jazz Corner
"I had the privilege of having Scott Anderson's mixing skills capture the real spirit of my debut CD "Adriano Santos Quintet in Session." His vision in the mixing process was crucial for an extraordinary quality record, enhancing the definition of each instrument and at the same time keeping the truthfulness of the session. The combination of Scott's musicianship and the ability of handling technical obstacles, played a very important roll in the final product. He is a top quality professional." Adriano Santos
Jon Irabagon - Don't Hear Nothin' But the Blues

Winner of the 2008 Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition, Jon Irabagon is completely nuts. He is able to doabsolutely anything on the saxophone. This CD is a one track extended improvisation with drummer Mike Pride.
Ryan Green and Scott Anderson - Tive Razão

Tive Razao is a record I did with Ryan Green, a great singer that I started working with in New York shortly after I arrived. We did many duo gigs around town and developed a pretty cool repertoire. This record also features a version of Vera Cruz, on which I overdubbed new parts to an unreleased trio session I did years ago with Steve Rodby and Dede Sampaio.
Matt Geraghty Project - Passport
Credit - Mix
Featuring Howard Levy, Paul Wertico, Neal Alger and a host of other jazz greats, world-jazz composer and friend Matt Geraghty's first release after moving to New York marked a new phase in his music. This was the first CD I mixed and it came out really well.
"Scott Anderson's excellent mixing and post-production skills allowed me to craft my musical vision for my CD 'Passport'. There were many challenges that Scott navigated with ease and professionalism. Scott has great ears, attention to detail and is damn quick with the technology. He is easy to work with and my CD sounds at a world-class level because of his involvement in my project." Matt Geraghty
Rich Johnson - Up the Turret Mill
Credit - Mastering
Rich's laptop-produced ambient CD was the first project I mastered. Rich and I used to have a band together called Voice of the Turtle. Everything named from the project needed to be named after something in the movie Zardoz.
Rich creates beautiful soundscapes in jaw-dropping performaces of trumpet and electronics.
